There’s also the JiuBa cocktail lounge and several private dining areas in the two-story space. Drenched in a dreamy turquoise color palette, a paneled glass chandelier anchors the main dining room, with translucent blue floor-to-ceiling room partitions and art deco-inspired gold wall panels surrounding the commanding long center dining table. I've had better dining experiences at fast food restaurants such as KFC and even food courts. It’s not the first restaurant in SV to utilize the iPhone naming convention (looking at you, iTalico), but aside from that questionable practice, the opulent iChina opened in August to great reception. Our dinner was utterly ruined by the ambience created by the staff and I shall never return to this restaurant nor recommend it to anyone. So not only were the waiters and waitresses being extremely rude in front of customers, the manager showed as much respect as them by not handling the situation appropriately. After about 20 minutes into our meals (which was nearing the end) was when the manager, who also seemed to be the head chef, decided to take matters into his own hands and in turn began to scream at them at the top of their lungs. My fiancé also recalls them shouting vulgarities while we were dining. They were louder than the chatter of the customers! At one point one of the waiters even proceeded to put up his middle finger to one of his colleagues in front of everyone. They all stood in a group, chatting away and making VERY loud jokes. None of the other waiters and waitresses did any work whatsoever. who was relatively kind and helpful but the rest of the staff acted like 5 year olds in a playground. The food was fine, nothing wrong there but the service was disgustingly disrespectful. With our spirits high we were greeted with a horrible surprise. My fiancé and I decided to try this place after watching a great movie. In fairness they declined payment but this was a very small goodwill gesture after waiting 45 min in what should be a quick noodle bar! More My toddlers patience had run out and we said were were leaving and again went to pay for our drinks and custard bun. The waiters still kept trying to tell us that one bowl out ff the 3 noodles we had ordered had arrived and we should sit down and start with this wrong bowl of noodles. We explained this was wrong but the waiter kept insisting it was right.īy this point exasperation had kicked in and I went to the counter to pay for what we had. We were then presented with a bowl of dry noodles despite my sister having ordered the one with soup. Then after waiting another 15 min with a toddler who was getting cranky we got a waiters attention and said we couldn't wait any longer and were happy to pay for what we had had and leave. We enquired regarding the food and kept being told it was on it's way. She was lovely and brought it to us immediately. I asked if I could just get a custard bun while waiting for my 2 year old son while we were waiting for the food. I was looking for a waiter when a lady who I assume was the manager stopped as she was walking past. While we were waiting for the order to be taken. It took a while to get our orders taken and this should have alerted us to the issues. We happened pass this place and the menu looked good so we called in to have dinner.
